Reduce 3D Printer nozzle wear with a Micro Swiss Plated Brass wear resistant Nozzle
These M6 RepRap style nozzles are made from a 360 brass base material and plated with TwinClad XT coating. Brass provides excellent thermal conductivity while the very hard and abrasion resistant TwinClad XT coating protects the nozzle against wear. The TwinClad XT coating includes non-stick additives and offers one of the lowest coefficients of friction, better than nickel with PTFE co-deposit. If you are working with abrasive Carbon Fiber, Stainless Steel, wood filled or any other metal filled filaments, this will greatly improve the life of your nozzle.
The TwinClad XT coating will greatly extend the life of these brass nozzles and holds up well to occasional printing with abrasive materials. If you plan on doing extensive printing with very abrasive materials you may want to consider upgrading to the Micro Swiss A2 Tool STEEL wear resistant nozzle (an even more wear resistant steel nozzle) or M2 Hardened High Speed STEEL Nozzle - MK8 (The most wear resistant steel nozzle Micro Swiss makes).
(Note: Many manufacturers of composite 3D printing filaments which contain abrasive materials recommend nozzle orifices 0f 0.5mm or larger to greatly reduce the likelihood of nozzle clogging. If you are unsure what size is right for you, please check with the filament manufacturer for their recommendation)
